For fire services, the city of Port Orford contracts with the Port Orford Rural Fire Protection District, a volunteer fire department headed by Chief David Duncan. New volunteers are always needed. Training is provided. Please contact Chief Duncan for more information if you are interested to help your community in this way.

Burn Permits

Burning trash is not allowed in the City of Port Orford. Burning yard debris is allowed, but a burn permit is required. Fires are only allowed when conditions are safe. For more information about Fire Permit Requirements in the City of Port Orford, see Chapter 8 of our municipal code.

Burn permits cost $15 when they are available. We are currently in fire season and will not be issuing burn permits until it ends.
