Message from the Mayor and the City Administrator:
I want all Port Orford residents to be confident that your city government and staff are following all recommended precautions to keep us all safe and to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID 19. As of this morning, there are no known cases of coronavirus in Port Orford. However, in order to reduce potential contact transfer of the infection, effective immediately, the city hall will be closed to all outside visitors. Staff will be available via phone and e-mail to answer any questions that you may have.
The health and well-being of our community is our top priority. We recognize that the COVID-19 virus may impact the community locally, and we are focused on preventing the spread of coronavirus. ‘Social distancing’ is one of the keys to limiting the spread of the coronavirus. Based on the latest guidance from federal, state and local officials, the city will follow the recommendations to limit non-essential, in-person meetings, and postpone or cancel large gatherings.
As proactive steps to ensure the well-being of our community, Port Orford has decided to reschedule or cancel events, services, and in-person meetings, effective immediately.
• City Hall closed to outside visitors. Water and Sewer payments can be paid at the payment drop box at city hall OR paid online at www.portorfordwater.com
• Staff who can will work from home
• All city owned public restrooms and facilities are CLOSED to the public
The information of the corona virus is ever changing and we will do our best to post changes as they affect the city.
Please remember that the best defense right now is to isolate and if you cannot isolate then remember to keep at least 6 feet of separation between you and others and “Wash your hands frequently”
Welcome to Port Orford… the oldest town on the Oregon Coast and the most westerly in the 48 states. We are a working fishing port, with an active – and talented – art community, and a great place for visitors who want to enjoy spectacular natural beauty without the crowds.
We love our little piece of authentic small town America and work hard to protect its unique, individual character.
At City Hall, we’re here to serve the people of Port Orford as we work together to make a life. Let us know how we can help.
