The City of Port Orford is announcing that three City Council positions will become vacant on December 31st, 2026. All City Councilor positions are for a four-year term. These positions will go to the voters for election on the November 3rd, 2026 ballot.
Persons interested in filing for any of these positions may pick up information at Port Orford City Hall, 555 W. 20th Street, Port Orford, OR., or call 541-366-4573.
The earliest date to file and start collecting signatures, according to the City Charter, is Tuesday, July 30th, 2026.
The deadline for filing is Tuesday, August 27th, 2026, 3:30 p.m. at 555 W. 20th Street, Port Orford, OR.
To qualify for the City Council position, the applicant must be a qualified elector within the meaning of the state Constitution, gather no fewer than 25 signatures of qualified electors within Port Orford city limits, and must have been a resident of the City of Port Orford during the six months immediately preceding the election.
